Diamonds are Forever
Celebrating 60 (well 59 and a bit) years of the TVR Marque from an underground bunker, deep beneath the Champagne House of Mercier
In its grandest International Assignment to date, the Surrey Region once again takes to the roads of France. On an extended weekend trip we will
be celebrating TVR's anniversary with unique style and elegance, in the heart of the Champagne region.
Following a mid morning departure from Dover for Boulogne, we make our way cross country on fantastic roads to our first nights
stop at La Chartreuse du val Espirit. A relaxing start to the trip means we have plenty of time to unwind in luxury.
Next morning we depart for the vineyards of Champagne; first stop, the house of Mercier, for a luxurious welcome to the region. Following a leisurely
afternoon, the pace changes and black tie is the order of the day as we descend for a subterrainian extravaganza in Caveau Bacchus, alongside 18 million bottles of Champagne!
Having recovered from the morning after the night before, we take to the roads of the region for Grand Prix and Grand Cru. After visiting the site of the Reims Grand Prix in years
gone by, we head for a tasting at a private Chateau. There's room for all of us come rain or shine. We complete the evening with an informal meal in a popular local restaurant.
Finally homeward bound, we wind our way back North, loaded to the gunnells with local produce.
